The Tokay gecko, scientifically known as Gekko gecko, is a strikingly beautiful reptile native to Southeast Asia. Known for its vibrant coloration, with a distinctive blue-gray body covered in bright orange or red spots, the Tokay gecko is a sight to behold. Its large size, reaching up to a foot in length, and iconic vocalizations make it a charismatic species in the world of reptiles. Tokay geckos are arboreal creatures, often found dwelling in tropical rainforests, where they use their specialized toe pads to effortlessly cling to vertical surfaces. Despite their captivating appearance, they possess a formidable temperament, known to be territorial and capable of delivering a painful bite if threatened. Additionally, their ability to produce loud, distinctive calls, often likened to the phrase "to-kay," has earned them cultural significance in many parts of Asia, where they are sometimes kept as pets or revered in folklore.
