Northern water dragons, scientifically termed Intellagama lesueurii, are native to Australia's eastern regions, particularly Queensland and New South Wales. Renowned for their semi-aquatic lifestyle, they inhabit freshwater habitats like rivers, creeks, and ponds, often basking on overhanging branches or rocks. With streamlined bodies and powerful limbs, they're adept swimmers and climbers. Their diet consists of insects, small fish, and aquatic invertebrates. Males sport vibrant colors during breeding season, showcasing dominance and attracting mates.
