Nelson's milk snake (Lampropeltis triangulum nelsoni) is a strikingly colored, non-venomous snake native to Mexico. This species, known for its bands of red, black, and white or yellow, mimics the appearance of venomous coral snakes, providing protection through mimicry. They typically grow between 3 to 4 feet and are popular in the pet trade due to their vibrant colors and relatively easy care. In the wild, Nelson's milk snakes are found in semi-arid regions and feed on small mammals, birds, and reptiles. Their docile nature and adaptability make them an excellent choice for both beginner and experienced reptile keepers.
