Measuring just a few centimetres in length, the Golden Mantella inhabits the leaf litter of humid forests, where it preys on small insects and invertebrates. Its brilliant coloration serves as a warning to potential predators of its toxic nature, derived from the alkaloids present in its skin secretions.

These are NON toxic in captivity, the toxins derive from their diet in the wild.
