Chubby frogs, also known as Asian painted frogs or Banded bullfrogs, are small, plump amphibians native to Southeast Asia. Their scientific name is Kaloula pulchra. They have rounded bodies, short limbs, and a distinctive brownish-grey colouration with stripes. Chubby frogs are nocturnal and spend much of their time hiding in moist environments to stay hydrated. They can inflate their bodies as a defence mechanism, making them appear larger to predators. In captivity, they are popular pets due to their low-maintenance care needs and docile nature. These frogs mainly feed on insects, such as crickets and small invertebrates.
